Located in the picturesque village of Villars-sur-Glâne, this charming chalet gives a whole new meaning to escaping on a weekend retreat to the Swiss Alps. Iconia embraced the concept of self-indulgence in designing the chalet's interior; a modem takes on the traditional ski lodge. Each individual space was designed to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere in which guests can unwind and reconnect with surrounding nature.
The use of authentic and noble materials provides a timeless quality to the chalet, elevated by elegant custom designed furniture. The living room's couch, poufs and table like many other elements in this project were specially drawn and produced by Iconia. The design scheme revolves around the use of natural woods, leathers and soft touch textiles such as furs and wool, which interact seamlessly with the generous amount of natural lighting the chalet’s large pane windows offer.
Iconia managed to balance heavy material choices, such as the massive natural-stone chimney backwall, with more delicate elements, namely the Iconia blow glass Bocci lamps or the custom-made picture frames which adorn the chalet’s walls. The overall result is an elegant and welcoming atmosphere, which encourages guests to cocoon and recharge.
